What is Vermicomposting?

Vermicompost, or worm castings, are formed through the combined effort of worms and microorganisms.  By the breakdown and conversion of organic matter (compostables) otherwise destined for landfills;  To form a nutrient rich, biologically robust, organic soil amendment.

 

Why Vermicomposting?

According to an EPA study, up to 30% of all food produced is wasted, and destined for landfills.  And up to 50% of all ‘garbage’ is compostable.  The results of this are harmful to populations and the environment.  Regenerative and responsible food waste management is possible, and attainable.

 

 

 Like the original concept:  Reduce, Reuse, Recycle;  I began working towards these goals in waste reduction, composting, and home gardening some time ago.  Now we want to expand this vision to you!  We can be the change that sets a new direction towards Healthy Soils, Healthy Food, and Healthy People.
 With the help of some hard-working worms, we strive to ‘Close the Loop’, by diverting compostable materials destined for landfills and instead produce a biologically active, natural, living soil amendment.  Vermicompost.
